What this is

Sarah Boone was tried for second-degree murder in the death of Jorge Torres in Orange County, Florida. The trial ran from October 14 through October 25, 2024, before Circuit Judge Michael Kraynick.

Primary source

The primary text is the court-reporter transcript of the October 2024 trial in the Circuit Court of the Ninth Judicial Circuit. It includes jury selection, testimony, courtroom arguments, the verdict and the jury poll.

The transcript covers all ten trial dates. The September 3 and October 2 motions hearings and the December 2 sentencing are outside that transcript coverage.

Court TV and Law&Crime Trials recordings accompany six trial dates. Video coverage has gaps, and October 14–17 have no accompanying video. The October 25 verdict uses a separate recording.

Supporting material

Summaries, profiles, and other guides are separate from the transcript. Some are produced with AI assistance and may contain errors or miss important context; use the transcript and cited records for important questions.

Accuracy and corrections

  • Off-the-record discussions are not transcribed. Some jurors and prospective jurors are identified by number or by a courtroom role.
  • The reporter marks some recordings played in court as non-verbatim transcriptions.
  • The transcript and supporting summaries may contain errors. Verify important quotations against the official court record.
