In his opening statement, Owens described Boone and Torres buying wine at Publix around noon on February 23, 2020, followed by a later purchase by Torres alone, and previewed store videos and receipts. Koepsell testified that she went to Publix and obtained surveillance video showing them there. Melissa Roughgarden testified that she responded to 4748 Frantz Court, Apartment 3, on February 24, 2020, documented the scene and collected wine bottles, Publix receipts and a baseball bat. In a 911 recording played to the jury, a caller identifying herself as Sarah gave the same address and alleged that Jorge Torres had beaten her.
