About

John Martinez testified for the prosecution on Day 5 about responding to the apartment and contacting Sarah Boone. The Orange County sheriff's deputy said that, upon entering, he saw a man later identified as Jorge Torres lying on his back in a small dining nook.

Martinez authenticated his body-camera recording of the February 24, 2020 response. Under questioning by prosecutor Dave Cacciatore, he confirmed that the camera recorded all his contacts with Boone and fairly and accurately depicted a portion of the events. The court admitted the footage without objection as State's 7, and it was played for the jury.

The defense declined cross-examination. Both sides agreed that Martinez could be released without recall.
